Good Times... The summer's started well here am Bodensee. Have plenty of work, (both for my boss, and on my own), and have been making some connections with interesting and creative people. Have lots on the "to do list " , but trying to keep it reasonable because I have had problems in the past overextending myself and ending up screwing things up. Live and learn!
Need to get my glider checked out. It's been sitting unused for over 2 years, and the reserve chute probably needs repacking, if not a total replacement. Feeling the urge to get back up in the Alps and spread my wings again, but often times responsibilities have to come first. Well... the thermals will still be there on the right day. Patience, man...patience.
Miss the ocean somewhat, but the lake here is fine for doing lots of things. Just ordered some new freediving kit, and I think there's an apnea club somewhere around here. Even if I don't have time to meet with them, I'll be in the water whenever I can. Evenings there is always the chance to get in, and along the lakefront in some places nearby you can have a swim and chill afterwards..
Going to meet a couple friends from the English speaking group for brunch to try to organize a sailing outing for our club. I don't have the local license, but one of us does, though she's not got much boat handling experience . My merchant mariner's papers don't count here, but that's how it goes when you live part-time in another country. Should be great if we can make it work!
I feel very fortunate that after a very dark time in my life it seems like the sun has really come out again. There are many of us who struggle with various issues, and constantly seem to be banging our heads against the wall trying to figure out life's bigger questions while keeping the day-to-day stuff in order. Lately it's been great how like minded people have been popping up in this place and sharing their talents and ideas with me. I learn from them, and sometimes even can teach them a little thing or two that makes their lives easier.
Nice to be "here" even it's just in the virtual world. (SG)
Thank you, and o.k. !
