Truck suspension project: Done
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Automotive
I have 100% rebuilt my truck's suspension. I've done all I can do, replacing every single part that can wear out in one's suspension. I had to buy specialty tools, I didn't add the price on those up, but on parts I spent about $600. Can you imagine how much labor would have cost me at a shop somewhere? Not to mention parts mark-up. I did one side in about 8 hours over 3 afternoons, did all steering tie rods in one afternoon, then did the other side in 5 hours over 2 afternoons. The only thing that remains is to get it aligned, which is an operation too precise for the backyard mechanic. And to get one more new tire.
