yesterday was a big day at the zoo. the spawn had so much fun! i hope he gets as much enjoyment out of next week--his birthdate is the 3rd and of course there's going to be a bunch of nationalist debauchary the next day...
anyhow, i have to admit, i had a lot of fun at the zoo, too, even though it was *so* bright and it does make me
to see the animals looking bored and hot in their enclosures. the meerkats were supercute and the butterfly garden was awesome, as always. plus...there were a lot of cute girls out and about. it just about drove hubby to distraction to see me check them out...he thought it was *hawt*.

and that tiger...he was so HUGE...just laying right up agains the glass...it was impressive. all i could think about was William Blake's The Tyger...
that was kind of cool, actually, because i haven't read poetry in a long time, and when we got home, i actually spent several hours reading and discussing some on my favorite poetry with my husband. i think i'll be focusing on that a lot more...i can actually recall why i was an English major at one time in my life...
