Today has been a pretty awesome day so far. Sure, I'm a little sore from doing commando rolls in a pine forest and firing rounds at zombies and mutated bio-weapons, but I'm feelin' pretty nifty. I know, I know, this may sound like the usual crap I've been known to make up in my journal, but bear with me.
So last weekend I went up to Brooklyn to shoot a music video for a group called The Grammar Club. A band my friend, Shael Riley is in. Check out http://thegrammarclub.com/ for a couple of yearbook pics and a weird little bell song. It was shot under the Brooklyn bridge. I'll be in the video during the chorus with Shael and a bunch of other rad peepz. I'll post a link to it once the video drops. The rest of the weekend was spent chillin' in bars, watchin' youtube videos at Shael's house, and walking up and down my old neighborhood with my cousin just swappin' stories of the old days. We visited an old apartment I used to live in on Riverside Drive under the George Washington Bridge. This was the apartment I escaped two men with guns by jumping into a closet. True story, ask me about it sometime.
Had a pretty relaxing week, then headed up to Sodus, NY to shoot the rest of my scenes for X-Strike Studios' new zombie flick: Resident Horror. Make sure you keep up with the blogs at http://www.x-strikestudios.com for some awesome behind the scenes moments. And, dudes, there were PLENTY of great moments captured on camera. I had a lot of fun. The whole time I couldn't believe I was totally in a zombie movie. The burning triceps and neck muscles remind me how real it was, though. I'll post pictures on here and on myspace once the photographers upload them.
I spent a lot of my downtime building a monster. It was hard work, but a lot of fun. Had a total childhood Jim Henson's Creature Shop fantasy there. Considering the time constraints and the limited supplies, I think the monster ended up lookin' pretty good. Everyone on cast was amazing (and even folks who were just there were pretty cool). Tim's folks fried a turkey for us. I think it set a precedent that someone needs to cook a turkey dinner at all big X-Strike shoots. I <3 Turkey dinners. We spent the 7 hour ride home listening and singing along to TV Theme songs. It's amazing how many other peepz even remember the the lyrics to Disney Afternoon. All in all, a pretty fab time.
Now that I'm back, I'm just working on t-shirt designs for this airbrush guy I'm working for and finishing up some posters and sticker commissions to save up money for rent in NYC. Oh, and playing Zelda. Peepz need to add me to their address books, already! My Wii Number: 2498-0822-7816-6235
Also, Tim's pug looks like Danny Glover. So how have YOU all been?
