yesterday, I inadvertently started pulling up the gross vinyl tile that covers the pretty linoleum floor-- the one installed (most likely) when the house was built, in a time when solid oak and understated coving were not uncommon. when a brick exterior was more than a facade.
oh, yes, I like this house.
my poor boy came home to his house torn to shit and his beer fridge unplugged after something like a 10 hour day at work. PLUS I broke a drill bit. and the car parts that had been on top of and underneath the kitchen table were in a box outside. telephones too.
AND I broke down what is, broken down, about a 6' x 6' x 4' area of cardboard boxes, which was a far more grave offense than expected.
so I was crying and apologizing, because my plan to mop nice and then set up the table and buffet all pretty is now a couple days away from actually happening. plus I haven't finished stripping ANYTHING. I need to stop starting new projects until these ones are done.
