tomorrow is my grandmother's birthday. my parents, my beau, and I had breakfast with her this morning. he and I gave her a birthday card and a thank you card for some money she gave us as an engagement gift.
in the birthday card, I wrote a note I felt quite sincerely about how wonderful it is that she is in our lives to see marriages and births as well as job losses and deaths. in the thank you card, I wrote something to the effect of how we used the money to buy a sink.
she didn't react at all to the birthday card. the thank you card made her laugh.
I wonder if she doesn't think it matters to us that she is a part of our lives.

giggles:
hmmm maybe she just isn't a sappy woman
rabidbuttons:
it is possible... my exhubbins grandpa used to be treated like a piece of furniture until he died. It made me so made at them...."just because he has gone blind doesn't mean he can't hear you...or feel it when you hug him!!"
