Where to begin...
Yesterday I received a phone call that one of my childhood friends, Shawn Lasswell, was killed yesterday morning in Iraq after his Hum-V was blown up. I've never lost someone very close to my heart... It all seems so unreal. He was in town just last week... He and I grew up together- He was like a brother to me. I believe that everyone has their time to go and yesterday was his time. He was only 21... Yesterday I decided to let go of a lot of things.. I realize more than I ever have before that life is too short. Too short to get hung up on things that don't matter.. too short to dwell on what "should've been" or what "could've happened".. we need to focus on things for what they are- accept them- and move on.. I know I will see him again one day.. just not in this lifetime. He will always be alive in my heart...

I'm sorry to hear about this.
What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, take what you've got from him and put it into who you are.
Be great and don't ever look back.
