Finally moved in to my new place! It is sooo fucking cool, I'll try to post photos in the next few days. Never, ever, ever move with the help of the train, though. My friend Zane, who hooked me up with this place, drove the van I rented to get most of my stuff, but I still had quite a bit left which I brought up in successive trips on the train. While I may have saved a little money from avoiding delivery services like Kuroneko Yamato, the aggro was not worth it AT ALL. Don't be cheap like me if you move in Japan, I implore you.
That said, it's all done now and I just have to get everything unpacked. Didn't realize how many books I had til I was packing them. Had to leave my bookcases behind due to lack of room, so now I gotta find some. Have a big, dark wood (or suitable facsimile) one in mind for the living room. Let me know if you hear of anything in town
Also, looking to a visit by Juliette to Kyoto in a little over a week. She and her entourage only have a day, so not sure what to plan, if anything. Any ideas for those of you who've visited Kyoto?
Other than that, just work and drinking and women. What more could life be? Meaning would be nice, but overrated. Oh, and vacation's coming soon. Where to go?

I guess this is a formal request to join the SGjapan group. I've been to japan twice. Been studying that language for a few years. Also Shodo and Iaido. Generally very interested in who might be hanging out in the all things japanese groups. I am considering moving to japan but i'd be BSing you to say i really am planning it at this point. contact me by email through the SG site if you have any questions. I really do not know what you are looking for. I spent all of last august in Japan and plan to be there next august as well. thanks, nicetiger
