So my new girl, Noriko, tells me that the main aisle of a church is called "virgin road" in Japanese. God I love this country
Edit: Great news! My friend Zane showed me a house in Kyoto that's perfect. 3 rooms (a living room, bedroom, and study,) plus a decent-sized kitchen with an oven no less, and a garden, all for 65000/mo.!
The house is a bit old and you have to walk outside a meter or two to get to the batch, which will suck in winter, and it has a septic tank, but overall it's awesome. Only 15k more than my current place, and so much bigger and nicer. Plus, the previous tenant had to leave in a hurry, so he left a bunch of stuff, including a DVD player, a good bike, and a decent library.
As it stands, assuming that the landlady's still cool, I'll probably complete the move by the end of June. This means btw that all you kind SG folks would have a place to stay if you come through Kyoto. Oh, and apparently the last guy had lots of parties. Ideas anyone?
