Oh, and, yeah, I think Catcher is only life changing for someone who is about 15 or 16 when they first read it. All angst ridden and whatnot. My first experience with Franny and Zooey was actually in a Religion class in college (we had required religion courses so I made sure to take the interesting ones!)... go figure.

a new zealand accent - they're from new zealand. kiwi is there national symbol - a flightless bird that is native to their country. Their accent is a token of much derision here in Australia - cos six sounds kind of like sux and fish and chips are fush and chups.
