I finally broke down and filled out the application for a personal service dog. Ive been fighting the idea for a long time now but for someone who spends most of his time around dogs it just seems silly not to have one. It will take a year or two for a puppy to be selected and trained but once they get him trained he or she will be my dog free of cost. Most companies want to retain ownership and reserve the right to take back the dog for any reason. Which is probably good in most cases but I guess Im just selfish.
We just finished our first day of bi-annual k9 cirtifications today and Im a bit disappointed in the young handlers. The dogs are all super hot but some of the handlers are unsure and timid witch transfers to the dog makeing them unsure. One guy did get sent to the hospital with a cocussion so that was a nice treat! I just hope the rest of the weekend goes better.
