I recieved this from Jackson @ sacred tattoo in Sacramento.. Thanks
I've finally gotten everything sorted out with setting up an account for Devon, for those of us who want to contribute to helping him on his way to recovery.
It's very important that everyone understands that 100% of every dime that goes into this account will go to Devon and Devon only. There aren't any middlemen, percentage takers or foundations that can get their hands on it. I've set this up on behalf of his family and friends, so any questions, please ask. It's even a free checking account to they won't even take fees for it.
So, you can send in money two ways; mail a check/money order/whatever to:
Devon Get Better
c/o
Sacred Tattoo
707 Broadway
Oakland, CA 94607
or you can deposit money into the account directly at any Washington Mutual branch, the account number is 3063634311.
Make sure checks are made out to "Devon Get Better" which is what I've set up the account under..
I'm on my way to the hospital for a meeting we're having with the neurosurgeon who's working on Devon, so we can ask questions, and find out the big picture in regards to Devon's recovery, what we should expect and what we can do to help him the most. What we do know right now is that its going to be a long process, with things happening very gradually, and that we need to be patient. The art benefits and shows will be starting this week, and will continue as long as there's drive from all of us.
With a constant stream of visitors since last week, Devon knows we're here for him and is able to show signs here and there of being aware people are around him who love him.
ALL OF OUR LOVE TO DEVON BLOOD

Oakland tattoo artist Devon Blood is in the hospital right now after being shot early Wednesday morning during an attempted robbery of his girlfriends' house. When he attempted to hold the door shut to his and Tanaya's room, a .22 shot through the door and struck him in the head. Part of his skull had to be removed to reduce swelling, and he spent a deal of time in the ICU. Things are looking up for Devon's recovery, as we just received this update from Tanaya:
Around 11pm or so last night, I was in his room when Devon was responding to his nurse's verbal commands during the ten minutes he was taken out from under heavy sedation for the first time. When the nurse asked him to, he was able to squeeze his right hand, hold up two fingers on that hand and wiggle all of his toes. He also opened his mouth a few times.
He is a close friend of many in the Bay Area / East Bay and a beloved tattooer at Sacred Tattoo in downtown Oakland... Bike races, benefit shows and more will be held to support our fellow friend and artist. Check with Matt Howse of voodoobilly.com / Spider Murphy Tattoo (San Rafael, CA) for more information on the events.
DELUXE / Real Skateboards, we will be adding our own form of support by doing a special limited-edition board, and all proceeds will go to Devon's recovery and the road ahead-- Headed by the awesome Alex Turan of the art department. Check for updates on DLXSF.COM for more info and contact details regarding our benefit boards... PERFECT gift for anyone who truly appreciates skateboarding, art, and even good friends and wants to help support Devon's recovery.
