Yeah TN is very much that way. I hate the place but there is just something about it you have a really hard time letting go of.
Makes me want to move to Dickson, alot of the people in Clarksville are very much like the people you describe Irvine. Everyone I know are very judgemential. Might be because of the strong military influence, but whatever. Although Clarksville is much better then Nashville. I felt really out of place in Nashville when I lived there for 13 months.
