I love the rain. Not just any rain, but the torrential, wrath of god kind of rain. The fire and the sound.
It reminds me of my old home in central Florida where you could feel the thunder reverberate in your chest.
It reminds me of surfing on a heavy day, the spray in my face, being deep in the wave where it sounds like freight trains echoing in my ears. At those times it's just you, lady ocean, and no one else. It's a pure experience of deciding that fate is either in your hands or someone else's and there are no other factors. That is beautiful to me.
The heavy rain reminds me of what it's like to be simple and to enjoy my surroundings.

I like big, dramatic rain, too. Spring and summer are better for that, I think. Fall and winter rain is too subdued (and cold!) to properly enjoy.
