Oh, what a weekend.
Tommy O' came up from DC. He came in late Friday night so we got settled in and meandered off to Manny Browns. At around midnight Langsford calls up and says he is in town for the night and at the Royal Tavern. We quick get the tab and run down for a few with him.
I fixed (amazing) breakfast in the AM and, since Tommy brought his Gamecube and PS2 with him, we sat around and played video games during the afternoon while waiting for Mikevil to show. When Mike finally arrived, we went to go see Live Free Or Die Hard. OMG, it's exactly what you expect and oh, so amazing. A must. A must. We met up with Crazy Eddie and ran off to South Street to go bar hopping until we were all too tired to stand up.
Everyone crashed at my apartment and Sunday morning we ran out to Island State Park in NJ. Surfline said the conditions were ankle high and glassy, so I didn't bother bringing the board. Good thing to, by the time we got there, we saw signs that the park was full. No problem, we went up a couple extra miles and hung out at Lavallette Beach instead.
Pause.
This was all hilarious. Keep in mind, Crazy Eddie brought his other car, you know, the beater that used to be his Grandmother's. So instantly, we were transported back to our senior year in high school. I was a little strung out, Tommy was friendly to every person he saw, Mikevil was being quiet and kind of shy, and Crazy Eddie was as loud and obnoxious as ever. Good grief, we were a mess, we were awesome.
The beach was spectacular. I, being in my newly single state, was in paradise. So many beautiful beautiful beautiful girls. The water was just right, cold when you first got in, but after ten minutes you never wanted to get out. The air temp was about ninty. Perfect.
We got home around seven and everyone went on there way. I cleaned up our mess, and now I should be responding to more messages, but I think I'll sit down with a few beers and watch Step Into Liquid for the millionth time.
Peace and love.
