Hark! For I speak of futility!
...The futility that is our future, our future of 2008, as if 2007 wasn't depressing enough.

The war in Iraq continues, with no end in sight - even the media reports have been toned down. This is not a good sight, even though it feels nice not to be informed that 5 soldiers and 25 civilians have just died from a suicide bomb. Fuck that feeling! There are two plausible reasons for the medias baking off the reporting.

A) Republicans have pleaded to Robert Murdoch (no doubt promising to eradicate his remaining opposition) to tone down the reporting during the elections, or

B) The media have realized that the people don't want to hear anymore about the death of their friends and family.

The second option is more scary. It means people have become so jaded that they don't care anymore. And they don't. They never did. Victory was declared, however the war continued. And still continues, and will continue. People thought it was over. They want to believe that it IS over. Their reaction is the same as the Swiss banks when one asks them about the gold they stole from Jews back in the mid 20th century. They don't want to talk about it.

And the Democratic party is just as happy that Iraq is not mentioned. Mrs. Clinton voted for the war, she doesn't want to talk about that. And the rest of the democrats want to focus on social issues, because they don't want to talk about plausible exit strategies. No one does, cause no one has one.

So in 2007 we have seen the beginning of the '08 presidential election. Republicans are on their knees praying that B. Obama won't be chosen to run against them (and unfortunetly I doubt he will be chosen). Republicans have even gone so far as to advertise (indirectly) Mrs. Clinton. The next time you read a column in a Republican/Conservative or ANY (even international) Economic news paper you will see sentences like "Clinton, who will be the Democrats candidate ..." See? Advertising! And the reason is obvious! The Rep.'s know how to fight a Clinton. They have done so before. They have great ammo like Lewinksy, or that Mrs. Clinton voted for the war, then regretted it. They are pissing their pants on the thought that Obama gets chosen, cause if he would, then there will, for the first time in history be millions of voters from minority groups, like African-Americans, who will vote for the first time in their life. Plus the Republicans have no ammo against him. And not even Robert Murdoch is crazy enough to allow an attack on him because of his heritage. That would mean death.

What else? The top three Republican candidates are amazing: One is a mormon who's favorite author is Ron Hubbard and the other is a gun crazy redneck reverend. And Giuliani became popular during 9/11. He will probably be the Rep.'s candidate, and the democrats fear him. He is one of the few republicans that New Yorkers like. But I doubt that Clinton or Obama will be the Dem.'s candidates, for there is a third figure, Edwards, who seems so perfect that it is scary (disregarding his infidelity). Plus has anyone noticed that he looks like the Smiler from Transmetropolitan? I wouldn't be surprised if he became the candidate because he is

A) White,
B) Male,
C) He smiles.

So maybe the Rep.'s will make a trade, as long as the Dem.'s play nice and choose him - maybe he will have to choose a Vice-president chosen by the Rep.'s, and what else? Oh yeah, maybe he has to promise to keep the Justice system conservative.

True. It will. Oil prices continue to climb as the dollar falls, and investors are urged to place their money in Russia.

Sweet mother Russia where Putin is king. King for life. It won't happen in 2008, probably not in 2009, maybe 2010... but it will happen! When investors have pumped enough funds into Russia so that their infrastructure is up and running and Putin can use 99% of the state budget to re-arm his army, he will seize final power by declaring martial law after a faked Tsetsen terrorist attack. And it won't be done to get more power (he already has it all), he'll do it to get the money of the foreign investors. And the international rich fuckers who invested in Russia won't loose a dime. Again it is the middle class that will get sodomized.

The rich bastards will know when to leave. And they won't do it publicly. You won't read about it, or any kind of warning in any financial papers. They will sneak out, by moving their funds to some non-russian company that will invest it again into Russia, however, they won't, when Putin seizes power. It will give Putin (and his overlords) all the other billions invested into Russia by smaller firms and middle class investors AND the reason to raise the russian masses against the rest of the world, as all the money promised them by foreign investors will suddenly not be there!

And the Smiler will be shot in the head while he is fucking his concubine, and his Republican vice president will press the red button while praying to god, and unleash Armageddon upon our planet, while Russian forces seize the oil fields in the middle east.

What a perfect end to our world as we know it - a dead smiling freak-president lying in his own blood, with his rigor mortis erect penis inside his dead mistress. Another man praying to God while Putin is counting his money.

I leave you, however, with this quote, this glimmer of hope.Just remember: Most of the worlds population have been disarmed, or they never had the guns to begin with.
