Well, it's 4:30, and I feel like shit. I just dropped off one of my best friends, Tom, at home, and it was probably the last time I'm gonna ever see him. He's in the Army, and he volunteered to be part of a special task force that identifies and defuses bombs! He gets deployed to Fallujah (spelling) the second week of December. Not only is he going to one of the most dangerous spots in the friggin planet, but he'll be finding and identifying friggin bombs while he's there. Holy hell.
The worst part is, damn, he's always been there for me. I don't know how many of you have a friend you can make a phone call to consisting of "Yo man. Bring the mask, pipe, gun, and shovel and meet me here" and his ass would be there in 20 minutes. Lemme tell you it's pretty reassuring. All I want is him to come home in a year with all his body parts, and whatever sanity he has left. I'm not a praying man normally, but in this case, if I have any positive points left in the bucket, I'd happily spend them to make sure he'll come home safe. Please, remember our soldiers, and make sure you kick some points of your own so they come home safely.
