Man have I been a busy girl.
My studio (ok, it's actually just my coffee table) is covered with works in progress. I'm currently bangin' out an adorable painting of a little tiger cub plushie for a friend's daughter, a portrait of the same friend's mom and dad (it's from an old photograph, they're young and kissing. It's friggin sweet, but do you have ANY FUCKING IDEA how GODDAMN DIFFICULT it is to paint from an old photograph? Especially with the flash? It fucking blows! There's no shadow patterns to go off of and the color is all blown out. You have to improvise and hope, which is easy enough when you're not attempting to paint a specific portrait, but DAMN! Listen, if any of you ever want to have a painting made based on a photo, for the love of god, make sure it's a half decent photo. Natural light is your friend, but if you can't have that, please please PLEASE don't use flash. It's the devil. Wait, what was I talking about? Oh yes...), a splashy tripdich for my best friend's boyfriend, and another lovely, trippy butterfly.
And those are just my commissions! Woot! I've got a few things I'm working on for my own collection as well. Very exciting business.
Did you notice that this blog is in the 'Sexy Picture' category? I did a photoshoot yesterday with TerryMac Photography yesterday. Had a total blast. This man has one of the coolest studios I have ever seen, and I'm looking forward to working with him again.
