Yesterday was a good day. I got two really nice compliments, first I went to visit a friend ( the girl I'm absolutely in love with by the way) at her work and when I got there she just said hi and didn't make much of a show about seeing me but about ten minutes after I got there she looked at me and said "You know I'm so happy you're here, you really made my day by coming to see me.". I know that doesn't mean much but It really touched me that someone was actually happy to see me (I don't get that much).
The second compliment was after my friends and I had a little jam session at an All Hollows Eve party last night. After playing several ballads we got up and played a couple reaaly loud "punkmetal" songs and when we finished up a girl I didn't really know came up, said I had a beautiful singing voice and that when I screamed in one of the songs I actually sounded like I meant what I was saying. That was, however, a slightly uncomfortable compliment because it is my personal opinion that you should always mean everything you say in music.
That kind of made me think about something, There is a fad growing that musicians have to start refering to themselves not as singers, but as singer/songwriters. When ( and why) did it become so fashionable to not write your own music? Just because Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have to dress slutty to make up for not knowing how to make words rhyme doesn't mean everyone should hire songwriters to do the work for them (on the for mentioned "artists" behalf I have heard that they tried writing some of the songs on there latest records so maybe they can actually earn some of the respect they've been given, IF they have talent that is).
Once again I managed to type a completely pointless entry,.. so I'll shut up now.
I would however like to once again say how hot Siren is.
