We had a flat meeting today and I was so totally bad-ass it's not even funny. I scare me when I'm responsible.
The main cause for a flat meeting was that someones fruit had been quietly rotting away on the counter in the kitchen for the past two weeks and I was getting tired of seeing it. I sound mean but frankly all I did was get the ball rolling. It was a good experience watching everyone vent the aggression that had clearly been building for a while. Afterwards we all hugged and agreed to clean the kitchen tomorrow together. I think we're all so neurotic and non-confrontational that if we didn't have these venting sessions we'd all implode, quietly of course so as not to disturb our flat-mates.
Aside from that I finished my first week of University this semester. My units look like they are going to be very interesting but also pretty challenging. One of my textbooks is about the ethics of Counter-terrorism in a liberal democracy. It has a muthafuckin' OWL on the cover. Pretty sure thats a sign of how cool this unit will be. Please forgive me for the use of profanity.
If I may be allowed another Nerd/Geek paragraph, tomorrow I am going to head into Perth with Cal to pick up DMZ Vol. 3 and Legacy Vol. 3. Out of the two I think DMZ is my favourite, mainly to do with my area of study and the sheer 'coolness' that leaks out of every page. If SG was a comic set in the second American Civil war it would probably look something like DMZ. On Saturday we're gonna play a second game of D&D. Cal has mainly played WoD so the D20 rule system was a bit confusing. I probably didn't help with the constant betrayal and general refusal to help without heavy compensation but I believe he has a firm grasp of the rules now. Josh was very dissappointed that we ruined his carefully crafted campaign by both managing to die without actually uncovering any meaningful plot.
Sunday will be the Basketball tournament which I will be running as the RA for Grevillea. Frankly I could care less about winning some stupid sporting event but it's pretty important to me that people from my courtyard show up and have a good time. To that end I'm planning on buying some snacks and stuff to augment the crap thats provided so my courtyard is at least well fed. Actually maybe I'll feed them AFTER they've played. No sense in sending out a team thats still digesting lunch.
Ooo and so far my "no folder" policy seems to actually be working rather well. Well it is true that my laptop froze in one of my lectures, making note-taking impossible, I did remember to take a back-up so I feel as though I am actually getting a good idea what the lecturer is saying.
Probably going to leave it there as I'm a little bit knackered. Good night internet people xo
