Warning! Something people don't know about me found below!
Well, turns out they aren't joking when they say you can teach and old dog new tricks... As it has been apparent in my blog recently I have been a little off... and here is the reason...
*drum roll*
Since most of you don't know me in person the fact that I am deaf hasn't come into play. I have been partially deaf my whole life and aside from a brief painful experience with hearing aides at a young age I have remained that way. Recently I realized that I couldn't hear my wonderful children the way I should. So I went down and got aides for the first time in over 15 years. This was in a large way a huge step for me. I have functioned my whole life reading lips and logical dealing with situations where I couldn't hear.
Today I picked up my new aides and have experienced many things. Going out to dinner was interesting to say the least, OMG!! It is so freeken loud, dishes, talking, crying, but for the first time I actually heard the entire conversation and didn't have to ask poor Aversin to interpret for me.
So, I venture forth in experiencing the world of the hearing...
We shall see what comes...
BTW, a very close friend of mine (whom I call brother) has joined... So if you don't mind jump by and please say hello to Zilen
