There's something to be said for that. You may remember my Fourth of July post, of course, but you may also recall that I said specifically that I didn't consider myself a patriot.
Any kind of loyalty - whether to a country, to a person, or to a god, is only a virtue insofar as its object is virtuous. Otherwise it's just a persistence in folly at best and more often outright criminality.
