Oh my goodness. No internet for two days while I was enjoying myself! bah! Its crazy how adjusted I am to having the internet. I think this calls for camping trips this summer so I can get used to being not connected again. I used to love being completely and utterly free, just getting in a car and going somewhere with no one knowing where I was. That I may freak out about that now, kinda disturbs me. I love my phone, maybe a bit too much, time to break the habit.
So anywho, I was in Chicago for four days, two spent in training for my job, and two spent with one of my best friends, and his girlfriend, wandering the city, finding out what was new, finding new cool places, having a great time drinking at their local pub, tossing darts and shooting pool. Oh yea, and Winning! hehehe. It was a great time. Class was informative, and exciting to learn about the technology advances we've made as a company, and where we are going. Than the time with my buddy was much needed, and relaxing, plus the lack of internet meant I actually went to bed, after reading for a bit, but I was in bed pretty early both nights, and no alarms the next morning. so I'm finally feeling relaxed, and a bit rested, for the first time in months. It kinda sucks to be a third wheel, but we had plenty of fun anyways.
While there I managed to make it to Ikea, and I got another bookcase for myself, yay for enough room for my books!, and a dresser for my daughters room here. Glad to be getting all the pieces together so she can have a nice, homey room here.
In other news, I started reading the Dark Tower series from Stephen King, second time I've read it, I'm loving the things I'm picking up this time through, and of course, I love the story. Also, Work shoudl be fun this week, they moved two of the guys to another building so that will be interesting, and next saturday would have been Liz's 29th birthday, theres a small get together of those closest to her, to commemorate, commiserate, and celebrate for her daughter, the life of her mother. Looking forward to it, and also a bit apprehensive, but overall I'm just glad to be included.
So very much a happy week past, and hopefully a damn good one ahead. now to wash my clothes, and get ready for it. Later SG, oh, and don't be down anymore k
