So quite honestly, the geekiest thing about me is my life. I know that sounds weird or like a cop out answer, but it's true.
I spend 40 hours of my week working at a comic book store, talking about comics and other brands of geekdom all day long. I work with geeks and my friends and family is made up of other geeks.
But my geekiness doesn't end at work. It all comes home too. My partner works at the same comic shop and is one of the few people I know who consistently reads more comics than I do. Between that and an employee discount, we've brought a lot of work home with us in the best possible way.
What you see here is a combined effort spanning about six and a half years. Single issues don't display nearly as well as books when in large quantities so they have taken over the basement as their place of residence.
My guy has been collecting comics for a bit longer than I have and at a time in his life where he didn't have much in the way of bills so he really helped jump-start a large portion of our current collection but what you see is a mutual love of comics and comic culture that is a large part of who we are as people.
You know you're really into something when you're looking at houses to rent with an extra bedroom just for your graphic novels and figures.
I like to maintain that we live a well-balanced geek life. True, we spend most of our time, love, and money on comics but we also are really into gaming (board/card/rpg/video game, we don't discriminate) and sci-fi/fantasy books and films. I was raised on Doctor Who and Red Dwarf and he was raised on Star Trek so I think the geek future of our family is assured.
