So the other day my boyfriend and I, being the responsible mature adults that we are, each bought one of the 2-player Adventure Time Card Wars packs. I've been super sick this last week so we didn't get a chance to play it until tonight. Anyway, this game is super easy to learn and only takes about thirty minutes to play which is great because most of our games are much more time intensive. In some ways, it's similar to Magic: The Gathering or any other deck-building fighting game but it has enough differences and silly Adventure Time charm to make it worth it.
The goal of the game is to take your opponent from 25 to 0 life on 4 planes of battle.
The first time we played, he played Jake's Cornfield deck against me and BMO's Useless Swamp deck. He ended up winning and becoming the cool guy while I, the loser, ended up the dweeb.
The second game, I played Lady Rainicorn's Sandyland deck and he played Finn's Blue Plains deck. My deck was a lot better this time and I ended up getting title of cool guy, but it was a much closer game.
These two-player decks were fun but it leaves a lot of room for customization and improved strategy if you put the time and the money into collecting future packs. All in all, this was a lot of fun and I'm sure we'll pick up whatever packs come out next.
