THE CONTINUING
First, thank you for everyones kind words from my last spout off. I try to leave the emo out of posts because they don't stand the test of time, but as well I really needed to vent and let some things out as well. You guys are all great friends and I appreciate all of your thoughts and words.
So todays words will be lighter. I am still looking for a place in San Francisco (yet haven't ruled out Sacramento if the right opportunity comes up, and still have my last choice of Portland), sent out feelers from here and there to keep an eye out for good opportunities out there for me, and even have spoken with a few possible roommate options in areas right outside of San Francisco.
I have time, technically my lease is up in March, though I can leave early if need be. So on top of the living situation I am taking my time to also start building a friend group around me of people from San Francisco as well. I'll be heading out to SGSF events in the interim (like free bacon night at Pop's) which hopefully will be fun and lighthearted. Maybe I'll see some of you out there.
Oh, and if anyone wants to help out by giving me some ideas of nice/good areas to look in San Francisco for a place to rent then holler at me. Thanks!
I'm sounding so dry compared to my other posts so here are some things to get you caught up on what I have been doing and some things I enjoy (or that I am enjoying right now):
Finished Classes for the Semester
Yep, done! I really haven't posted any of my good work on SG, especially lately, and have noticed how old the work is that I have posted in my pictures section. Its amazing to see how far I have improved over such a short period of time. Here, for fun, is just some simple sketches I had to throw together for a typographic assignment I was working on (self portrait using only typography). It's just the first stage before applying type. I definitely still need buff up on my illustration skills...
What Has Been Keeping My Head Up
Seriously, I have a hard time finding the right kind of music to lift my spirits in down times. BUT, I have come to realize there is one group (or duo) that has that magic touch on me. And its funny, because most of their music sounds like 80's movie soundtrack themes... Maybe a touch of nostalgia wakes me up?
Anyways, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE the UK duo FutureCop!. And finally they will be releasing an album on iTunes for hundreds, hopefully thousands of people to enjoy. Here is the song I have been listening to this week:
Futurecop! - Transformers (In Time Edit) this is an automatic mp3 download link, don't worry its legal they are giving it away
BONUS RAD POINTS - Can you guess what movie the original edit song is from? Break out your retro movie knowledge and give it a try.
Showing Some Love To My Contemporaries
You want to know what designers are in my realm right now; a style that I am feeling? Check out Akutou, a french graphic designer who sees style in the way I do. I love his use of "ice cream" tones and colors and beautiful illustrative work. Definitely worth checking out. Here are two examples of his work:
Zombie Johansson
Graphic Design Is My Last Chance To Make People Think I'm Cool
Love that shirt!
And since I always try to leave you all with one video to enjoy here is some more retro synth pop style music to enjoy... or not.
The Flirts - Passion
OK, that was a long post. Hope you enjoy a bit of it and remember you guys can always find me on twitter if I am not around here much. Talk to you all later and have a happy holiday if I don't speak with you before then.

acet:
Those illustrations are super creepy, especially the top left one.

Totally, I know! The top left is jacked up and makes me look like I'm a martian from Mars Attacks. But then these were just quick reference sketches that weren't going to be used in the final design, it was a typographic project using only type to make up the elements of the face. It's also shown in one of my last few blogs.
