Beauty beyond Bourgeois...
Fur: A Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (a movie rental must)
Hey Everyone -
Just another update and today, like days in the past, I am bringing to you a movie I hope you all will take the time to add to your "queue" or pick up as a movie rental next time you are in the mood. I finished this film last week and have been thinking of doing this entry ever since. Its another film by the amazing visionary director Steven Shainburg who brought us the rivettingly sensual yet sophisticatedly beautiful film called Secretary (another MUST SEE if you haven't already had the chance).

Fur is another incredible love story within an uncommon realm; in the same counter-lifestyle beauty that was shown to us by Shainburg's Secretary. Without giving up too much of the story it places you in the life of phenominal photographer Diane Arbus (pronounced Dee-anne) and her undeniable interest in showing the realness of the people we deem "oddities". Yes, the story is an IMAGINITIVE portrait of her life and reminds you clearly that this is not a realistic portrait of how she came to be the woman she was, but rather a fantasy of what it could have been like. OH OH, and one last note, Robert Downey Jr is slowly topping the ranks of my favorite male lead actors... he is absolutely incredible in this film. They guy is just... I dont even have words to describe his natural talent.
Anyways beautiful film and I really do recommend people rent it. Here is the trailer like I ALWAYS add but again I always recommend watching these in their best form so you can always go to the Apple Movie Trailers site and watch it in full scale there.
And to see the portraits she was so well know for check out Diane's Collection here.
Of course I have to comment on the poster design because thats my thing. This is actually a decently done piece... nothing incredible though. There is one simple yet distracting flaw that catches my eye now everytime I look at it; there needs to be some kerning (space between letters) taken out between the U and the R in FUR. For a professional poster design to miss that is kind of a big thing, especially in the title line like that. I really doubt they MEANT for a distance to be there and it kind of makes that U look funny. But in reality I have yet to see any posters this summer that have really been all that incredible in the first place so to see this was a little bit of a relief (though its not a new release or teaser poster for the summer).
OK OK enough rambling.
IN OTHER NEWS... Still need a roomie for San Francisco before I can move down. I'm getting way too antsy and really want to leave soon BUT for some pretty nice news... I have been offered to do some contracted Photoshop touch up photography work from a really good photographer here in Portland/Vancouver (she does do alot of work in Cali as well). Anyways just extra money for fun etc which is always nice. Haven't decided yet if I will take it or not, seeing as I want to be able to leave for California anytime I want and with her I would be on contract for a specified period of time (and of course it would suck to just leave her hanging).
Hmm what else... oooh I had what I thought was going to be a $3000 bill turn up to be nothing at all so that was nice! So another $3K to hold onto . Other than that its seems to have just been a busy week with doing odds n ends. Have been really enjoying my Stogie (the puppy) time though! Minus the fact he had ANOTHER urinary tract infection (sooooo common in weenie dogs) but he is a champ about it. I swear if he didn't bury his cock in the ground everytime he pee'd he wouldnt have that problem. Gotta love him though!
Well thats all for me tonight! I will talk to you all again soon.

I'm glad you mentioned Fur, I saw a preview for it and it looked really interesting. Those things have a tendency to fly right by if I don't add them to my queue immediately. I'm adding them now...
