Well it's November. Less than two months away from Christmas. I've always loved that holiday. But these past few years it seems to be more about materials and less about the more abstract ideas. The world puts emphasis on decorations and presents. Wants folk to spend what money they have by offering free layaway or 0% interest for 90 days. And people jump on those notions. Others shout about the religious aspect. Either wanting it recognized or demanding it not be mentioned. But to me, the biggest and best part of this season and that holiday in particular, time with family. A lot of my family lives out of state or works demanding jobs, so we don't get together very often. But Christmas, everybody comes home for Christmas. And that's what has always made the day special to me. So bring on the cold weather and shorter days, the crazy drivers and insane shoppers, and bring on the endless string of carols. I can take it, cause family is worth it.
