I've made it to the training facility and these accommodations are NICE! We were told that "the trailers you are staying in are nicer than the hotels in the area" and they weren't kidding. I mean, I don't know what the hotels around here are like but it sure is nicer than the Hilton were stayed in last night!
There's even an above ground pool that is going to feel amazing after a days worth of this Texas heat.
There are another 5 or 6 guys that are medics and dog handlers staying in another building. They have a room for every man, a flat screen for every room and even a damned jacuzzi tub in their trailer!
Now, one of the training classes that finished, packed up, and took off today left a house open that the 12 of us are supposedly going to split into. That would be nice, but even if we didn't I'm not going to complain.
Another nice perk.... we are getting paid 46$/day for food and some of the guys claim to know how to cook, a couple have already proved it. That's on top of the $91/day pay. So the company is feeding us, housing us (nicely), training us, AND paying us on top of it? HELLS YEAH!
We had our uniforms issued to us yesterday (also provided):
And we'll get gear (to include armor and shit) issued tomorrow after the physical fitness test.
Lastly, the company president came to speak with us and give us detail on the contract once we get to Afghanistan. It's going to be so easy it's bordering on boring...

missred:
in that case, is there anything i can do to hurry this training along and possibly delay the flight out if needed?
zale:
Lol... Nothing to speed training, sadly. But the flight? Well, I'll let you know.
