I tell ya what... I'm exhausted. As is sometimes the case, my work week will be a reprieve from my weekend.
Work called me in for a couple hours to train some noobs, during which time I was informed that Mon was to be our annual Christmas dinner. After work I met a friend at the OP Mall to catch Tron: Legacy, but not before some drinks at TGI Friday's. I think the slight buzz helped the whole IMAX 3D thing pop out just a little bit more. Not that it mattered too much, 'cause the movie was the shit anyway!
After the movie I shot to the other side of town to celebrate the return of an Army reservist friend fresh back from two months of training out in Cali. Shots, drinks, bar hoping, and just a little dancing... Long story short, a chick ended up taking me home. In retrospect though, a mistake. I never went home that night and had to be at work at 8am.
Once the work day was over I only had a couple hours to cleanup and change before diner and exchanging gifts with friends at a Japanese steakhouse. Ashley and Matt gave gifts since Ash wouldn't be in town for Christmas. She sets a bag with "Ho ho ho" all over it and says, "The Ho bag is for Zale." Cute considering what the gift was...
Now, I was REALLY looking forward to going straight home after dinner and getting some rest, but since Rob got a similar gift, we just had to go have drinks from our new pint glasses.
I got a little relaxing in on Sun before work at 4pm. It was a typical work day, but at about 10pm I got a text asking me to come out after I got off, and so I did... Mainly because I rarely got to hang with the friend who sent the text. So, we met at the Casbah, a hookah bar, and I also met new friends. We hung out there until the place shut down and then went to a kegger nearby. I didn't go to bed until after the sun was up.
I got to do a little shopping on Mon before the company dinner. Mostly for myself though since I'm having a hell of a time finding good gifts for others. Dinner was at 6pm at Cantina Laredo, a gourmet Mexican restaurant. I was early so waited at the bar and bought my first drink... $12.50 plus tip! Thank God the rest were going to be paid for!
There were only 9 people in attendance, but the boss lady kept ordering appetizers and salads for everyone to just share... And the booze never stopped flowing for anyone. We all got an entree of course, and a couple people even got two deserts, one to take to go.... I'm astonished the bill wasn't far more. It was only $800.
After that I went straight to The Ale House to watch the game with Rob and Mike. I felt like I was going to explode from all the food!
Rob had gifts for me...
One amazing bottle of tequila which was hand blown glass!
And some shot glassed... One gloriously cheesy and the other pure awesome!
Even ran into an REALLY old friend there. It had been 5 years!
