Just realised I haven't updated my blog in over a month. Such a slacker.
It's been a busy few weeks. Went back to SA for 2 of them, had an amazing time.
There were so many highlights, seeing family and friends, and of course, Kevin is probably top of the list.
I also shot a set with talamia which I'm so excited about
Was slightly terrifying, I'm really more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, but I really enjoyed the experience too, and it was great to finally meet her.
I was there just at the right time for Splashy Fen as well. The Death Valley Blues band played on Sunday night, and were awesome as always, but then I'm slightly biased.
The headliners, Horse the Band, although not the type of music I generally like, were amazing. What could be better than a keyboardist dressed in a banana outfit?
They looked like they had just wandered on stage by accident, but were so natural and the frontman was amazing.
We did not go for the normal camping experience, and stayed in a b&b instead. Such a good idea, nothing better than going back to a hot shower and a huge bed after a day in festival mud and rain
Here are some pics from Splashy
We stayed in Underberg for an extra day after the festival, ate some cheese, saw some cows, had a picnic by the river..
All in all, an awesome time. It kind of felt like a make or break holiday in many ways, and things went much better than expected, so hopefully, fingers crossed, later this year will bring even better things
