The good- the turn based battle system is interesting, and was the main reason I beat the game. I also liked acquiring and leveling up the fairies- basically accessories that level up and provide interesting buffs as you gain experience.
The bad- the creators made decisions that artificially inflated the play time of the game. if you attempt the sidequests, you're basically going to be running each of the dungeons multiple times (and some of them rely on rare monster encounters and rare monster drops/steals). Also, you travel back through time as a part of the story and play through all of the old areas a 2nd time (at the minimum). And, the only way to see everything (like find all of the fairies) is to play new game+.
The verdict- It was fun (for me), but it is flawed. If you can get it on steam for less that $10, I think that would be a fair price to pay. Watch some gameplay trailers first though. Unless you want to play it, don't go out of your way to acquire it.
