Honesty ahead:
I am defending this site against my best friend right now. I'm on the phone with him, trying to explain Suicide Girls, and he is trying very hard to convince me that this is a website made to draw guys in and exploit us in order to "give girls attention, by feeding guys' fantasies of sexy, video game playing, comic book reading, intelligent, independent women." He thinks that there are a fair amount of girls here who aren't really what their profiles say they are. He says there are too many "cookie cutter" cool girls on here.
He's worried, because he doesn't want my "sanity, safety, and sexuality" to be in jeopardy, and he wants more assurance that you girls are what you say you are. He says he just hasn't met that many girls who are as comfortable with themselves as those on this site and are into comic books, science fiction, video games, and crazy sex.
Please, understand, my friend is just looking out for me. He's afraid that I'll get sucked into something that's just going to end up being a disappointment. He is very protective. I can't help but laugh at his attempts to dissuade me from getting too involved with this website. It's not really his fault for acting like this. He's seen me get chewed up and spit out by a few girls, so he's only trying keep that from happening again. I love my best friend, despite his unwarranted fears of my online activities.
He has several irrational fears. For example, he's afraid of zombies (not really that irrational of a fear), and also, he is terrified of one day suddenly falling up, and not being able to stop, and eventually running out of air or having his blood boil. I laugh every time I think about that one.
His name is Andy, and he is married to another friend of mine. They live happily, in good ol' Texas. What a funny kid.
I hope everyone's doing well. I just got back from Calgary today, and had a fun time. Bought some legos, and the complete series of one of my favorite television shows, Trailer Park Boys. Those guys crack me up.
yours, truly,
Zach
