I'm back! Texas was wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. I ate a ridiculous amount of good food, did something fun everyday, and had a very good time with my friends. We went to Six Flags, Enchanted Rock, and Sea World. Saw some movies, went shopping, and got silly drunk. I can't explain it all, so included are some pictures. Derive what you can from my shaky camera skills:
My friends...I miss them already.
Embarrassed...because he forgot his pants.
Trying to steal a burger.
Taking a break at Six Flags.
Just one of the delicious meals I enjoyed. Steak+steak chips+salad+shiner+jim & coke= perfect supper.
Like I'm scared of a lion.
And that was my trip. Pretty much just like the pictures: random and beautiful. My friend Andy (he's the one holding the ice cream cone in the first picture) is deploying to Afghanistan tomorrow. Everybody be sure to send him your "safety" vibes. The girl beside him is his wife Angie. She's a character. I actually introduced them, which I'm very proud of. The other guy in the picture is Andy's brother Tayn. He's a youngster, who's at that fun and scary age right between adulthood and adolescence. He's a really funny kid, with a good head on his shoulders. You know you've been away from your friends too long when they start to cry as they drop you off at the airport...and when you have to choke back the tears as you check baggage.
Seeing them reminded me of how important friendships are. I would literally do anything for these kids. I'd be like Zach Galifianakis in "The Hangover": "I don't care if we kill someone." Having people you can count on, for anything, is one of the great things about being alive.
I hope everyone's doing well...my friends.
