Birthday Update!
Soooooooooooooo... before my first beer, before the party even started, just after I had finished cleaning up AND before my trip to the Liquor Store I tripped over a pair of shoes that where convininetly left in the middle of the floor, twisted over in to the side of my foot and busted it! NO SHIT!!! So needless to say, I spent 6hrs in Emerge yesterday afternoon, not a horribly long trip in retrospect... but long enough...
It was kinda gross too... The bone wasn't poking through the skin, but it stretched it tight over it so it looked really nasty before it swelled up around it...
It was a very busy afternoon, a couple of car accidents came in, an older lady who had fallen, some cardiac patience, and they didn't have any beds upstairs so they couldn't admit anyone... I felt really bad for the nurses. They were really stressed out, and the doctors were blaming them for stuff... Anyway, I got my x-rays, sat for a bit, and after 5hrs asked for a Tylenol 'cause my foot was getting a little tender, and the wonderful lady behind the counter said she was going to get me in!!! 5 min later, I had a nice seat and waited for the doctor... And hour later he came over, and asked where it hurt, I pointed to the general area, and he promptly dug his thumbnail into it! After they pealed me off the roof he said, it's broken got up walked over to the x-rays, turned back to me and said, "Yup, its broken! Wanna see?".... Fuck yeah! I wanna see... Any opportunity I get to take a peak at my bones I'm there! And boy is this fucker busted!!! So off I went to "treatment" where I was given a cast, and some crutches... I think it must of been one of his first casts 'cause the nurse made a few snide remarks about it, as she fitted I know why!!! Fucking thing is falling apart! Soooooooo I'm headed back tomorrow to have it recasted...
Let me just say... The rest of the night went very well... Had loads of fun, and beverages... Everyone had fun playing with my crutches, and my cousin was the only one to puke... Mind you my lady friend passed out and had to be carried to my room so she could sleep... HEHEHEHEHEHEHE... I was just happy that no one bashed my foot too hard... It did get bumped a few times... Soooooooooo as far as B-days go I give it an 8/10 for excitement...
Off to the Brass Door tonite!!! FUN FUN FUN!!!
