It is soooo warm here. Today has been the second day in a row we have abandoned the office and fled to a nearby bar for cold beers in the establishments garden. Currently i am going though a somewhat lengthy job interviewing process thingy among other things which involves some team building stuff so we're going to Ullswater tomorrow to build a raft and to sail (in theory anyway) a boat over this big ass lake which providing the weather remains as it is now will be pretty fun.
Only three or so weeks until the world cup! i'm not much of a football fan really but i like international tournaments, summertime sunshine, beers, friends, crowed pups with electric atmospheres and no doubt crushing defeat though penalties in the semi-finals. It's become somewhat of a ritual now hasn't it?
I don't know if this the case for the rest of the country of just in Carlisle because we're a stone throw from Scotland but how many England national flags are hanging around at the moment? just about every pub, most businesses and even the civic buildings are flying the St. George's Cross plus i noted around thirty cars driving by the Railway Station this afternoon while we had coffees in the sunshine over a period of just five minutes all flying the flag from the rear passenger windows - i bet it was just the same guy doing laps around the city centre borrowing other peoples cars.
Also...
Did anyone else catch the first episode from the new series of Top Gear last night? check out what Jeremy was driving... a Koenigsegg CCX - i'm a F1 fan and all but i'd don't really care too much for cars but this car is amazing + the Stig crashed the thing! The car is just insane, 4.7 litre V8 that knocks out around 800bhp on American petrol, 850bhp on our (currently very expensive) stuff and bizarrely over 900bhp on bio-fuel when the engine is tuned to burn it properly and has sweet fuck all down force to keep the car on the floor when it's doing over 230mph. I tell you, if i had 420,000 ($775,000) in spare change i would buy one... just to look at it though - i don't fancy dying just quite yet. Hopefully someone will post a copy of the video somewhere but if you're in the UK i believe you can watch the episode from the BBC site - just to watch Jeremy shit his pants driving the thing is worth it.
