The new Royal Navy Type 45 Destroyers, one of the most advanced warships on the face of the Earth will feature iPod docks in every crew members cabin with 5.1 surround sound. Yeah, you read that right.... if this story is true (which i really doubt it is) then aside from it being a waste of taxpayers money then the Royal Navy are taking a huge gamble that the iPod will actually still be a popular device in 2009 when the first Type 45 Destroyer is due to commence active service plus the time period in which the warship is in active service. I mean, come on for fucks sake... i call bullshit on this story because not even the Ministry of Defense is that dumb.
I am feeling rather annoyed about the world today. I am sick to death of Max Mosely and his rambling bullshit and i'm sick o death of hearing about these bloody cartoons and all the carrying on they're causing... i mean, i would have thought myself to be quite liberal but no one should be scared from saying what they want or printing what they like in a newspaper because some nutjobs believe in a god so much that what someone might say or print could offend them. Of course it is their right to complain just as much as it is the papers right to print the cartoons but no one has the right to print 'death to denmark' or 'behead the infidels' on banners and wave them around like it was some kind of nobel cause. What sickens me even more is that it is becoming quite evident in the middle eastern media that these cartoons where so important to be talking about that they forgot to initially mention that a ferry with over 1,400 people on board had sunk in the red sea, that's why the story took so long to break on to western newswires - for fucks sake, get your priorities sorted and your heads collectively checked.
Anyway, on a more pleasant and calmer note i have been listening to the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OST and it's pretty good so my 'currently listening' track has been lifted from it - check it out as it's a beautiful track, reminds me quite a lot of Bjrk really. I also managed to play around with iDVD the other night and made a DVD using a copy of Final Fantasy: Advent Children (a very good movie btw, it is what Final Fantasy: Spirts Within aught to have been) that i downloaded a few months ago and although it took nearly 8hrs to compose, encode and burn the results where amazing - i was honestly expecting some dodgy audio or pixilation now and again especially since i was needlessly downgrading NTSC to PAL (slower frame rates) but no, the whole DVD was amazing and the menus looked fantastic but i just wish it was a little faster to produce as 8hrs hogging my processor kinda sucks.

Its a wonder noone was arrested for those solgans. I hate to think where it will lead.
Yet again the few nutters are giving the group a bad name.
The original cartoons are kinda offensive, but as you say, free speech is important too.
I know simular cartoons on all religions have been published, and although they cause some bad feeling, they are soon forgotten.
Keep well mate
