I finished reading "Slaughterhouse Five" by Kurt Vonnegut and could'nt help thinking about quite a different subject while reading the contents. I wonder if when we die, when supposedly you see life flashing before your eyes, if that instant flash or any dream that you have of a moment are the reason why sometimes we will simply sit still and stare into nothingness. Maybe at...

i read that book for the first time about 4 months ago. totally blew my mind on the trip between seoul and wonju, sitting on the bus for hours in traffic.
so it goes.
in the picture, i am 19 years old. believe it or not. and whether i not i deserve a big girl bed matters nothing to me. it's mine now. i have suffered the indignity of thedorm sized bed (post college) for the past 2 years. now, i win.
somehow i really like afn commercials. at least they seem to know they're stupid. they're aren't insidious in their manipulation. plus, i really have fond memories of general schwartz and his special cinc huddles, beause he was like 9 feet tall, and so earnest.

Some people get soo offensive by the slightest words. Learn to convey messages as not an act of hostile aggression and more of a joke and you might be able to calm down a bit and see life a little more humorous. Oh well, can't please everyone in this world. It's nice to try though but that only goes so far. My week of slacking...

The great thing about boredom is that you get to learn who you are. I finally just finished this book about Emotional Intelligence and yeah, it was one of those psychology/clinical study books on how to form your children and about different mental problems. I always think these books are going to show me some kind of direction but always finish disappointed. Maybe I will...

Well seeing it has been some time since I have wrote in this thing (the lovely part of being me, I cant stick with a damn task), lets see where we are at now. Work today was grand. Usually we have to go in and escort some civilian contractors around restricted areas when they are getting their work done for 10 hours a day but...

Noticing that you are maturing is a scary thing because it slowly means the acceptance (or at least understanding) of all that shit that your elders have been telling you all along. Instead of going out like usual on the night before a trip, pulling an all nighter, chugging obsequeous amounts of liquor, and then getting an hour or two of sleep and dragging the...

you know, i like listening in to your existential dread. the last few lines are terribly true.
nova_____:
It's true, though. I know we all love life whenever thing are going really well, and then the shit hits the fan, and it's hard to see the light on the horizon. Life sucks when it sucks. I believe that the truth eventually comes out, and that good will always prevail. It just takes a looong ass time to ge there. I seems like too many people concentrate on their looks and losing weight, and if they don't see you doing the same thing, they judge you. As for me, I don't really care. I have bigger better things to concentrate on than looking good. I you are a decent person, the good things just happen to you. One of the fundamental rules in life is to help someone in need, even if you don't expect anything in return. And Judge not. Bad things happen for a reason, but that's hard to remember when you're in the middle of the shit I have had soo many friends and people that I was close to die within the last few years. Last year, a friend of mine died in a car accident, another commited suicide, and someone I went to HS with died. In the last 3 months, 3 people know died. One was shot by a cop, one died of a heart attack, and the other one I suspect commited suicide. A few years ago, me and my friends were worried that a carload of friends died, because they didn't show up to see Jello Biafra speak at UAA. They were in a REALLY bad car accident. A certain Suicidegirl was in BAAD shape for a long time. We were all really scared for them. You know, all of this just helps me realize that we're not invincible, and we won't be here forever, and that we're lucky to be able to spend this time with the people we love, and we should cherish it for as long as we can. No fighting, no drama. Just appreciate what we have. Love,Nova

Getting off the subject of life, let's talk about the interesting developement in uhh, umm, ehh, errr, so how are you all doing today? Today was one of the rare ocassions where time simply slips away and then its almost 9pm at night and I am wondering why all of my clothes are still dirty? Oh well, the wash can wait until tomorrow. I still...

Okay a little foreinformation....I work on aircraft and today we had one come down with a jammed gun and monster 20mm rounds in the chamber. The sometimes demented person I am let the pilot start getting out before we properly cleared it which mean his leg was basically dangling right in front of a loaded aircraft gun. I was kind of standing there with the...

i am known far and wide for my nose picking. i do it all the time in public! i don't even realize it, most of the time.
no legs getting blown off!! goddamn it, don't they have some commercial on afn about that? it's not opp sec, but i'm sure it's some other acronym. if they have commercials about not shaking the soda machine, or not breaking bottles over people's heads, why not about clearing guns?
are you airforce?

The worst thing is meeting really cool people and then right after you have become really good friends, they leave and you know that when they are gone, you realistically will not see them again because people's lives rarely pass when soo far away. One of my good friends is leaving in 2 days and today was probably the last time I would have hung...

That does suck... it seems to happen to me an awful lot, too, so I know exactly hat you mean. There's this high, this "ohmygodthispersonissofuckingcool, iwanttospendtherestofeternitytalkingtothem" kinda thing... and then they leave or something, and that's basically the end of that. Maybe you exchange email or something... but you know that you'll essentially not get to talk to them again. But sometimes it works out differently.. I met this guy once outside the art dept. at my school, we had this unbelievably great conversation... I've never hung out with him afterwards, even though we exchanged info. It just didn't happen. But every two months or so we'll run into each other and just stand on a street corner and talk about shyte... it's cool, i spose.

yay in depth analogies! smile

"Write you a letter tomorrow, tonight I can't hold a pen, someone's got a stamp that I can borrow, I promise not to blow the address again." the refreshments.
