I love LA. I love it!
I've written before that I'd only ever been to the LA airport but that's true no more! Shortly after midnight Friday night Rambo, Rockezi, and I set off for an all-nighter drive to LA. (Yes, we're partially crazy, but our ambitious plan worked!) I got lucky by default of having an expired driver's license and got to sleep a few hours curled up in the backseat, but they pulled through and stayed awake the whole time. First thing, we drove straight to Anaheim to pick up their Disneyland tickets for the day, had breakfast surrounded by far too many Disney characters, and then drove to Sean's for naps. Except by that point I was awake enough and had coffee in me so I couldn't nap and instead drank much more coffee hanging out in the kitchen getting to know Evette and Reagan. (Maybe I just couldn't sleep from the excitement of meeting so many new and amazingly hot ladies? ) A few hours later, we'd picked up Desdemonia, I got a great view of the Hollywood sign AND all the annoying tourists (so not me!) standing in the middle of the street taking photos. Rambo and Rockezi left for Disneyland and I finally had that nap!
The kitchen was crazy with activity all day long. It was like getting to watch a live semi-private baking show from Rigel! If I know one thing for certain it's that I need her vegan cinnamon bun recipe.
^ Stole that photo from Shaddix, who arrived later in the day after being thrown on far too many airplanes for a supposedly simple Toronto-LA trip. At least she got in, though we couldn't say the same for her luggage. She did get a complimentary XL t-shirt from the airline though! (And the bag came early the next morning.)
Sunday funday pool party!! All smiles and full of pinot grigio... I look drunker than I actually am though, I swear!
Oh hey, stole that from Shaddix too... I forgot about my camera a lot of the time. Which was silly of me. BUT I did get this adorable video of Rigel's dog Lula showing off her swimming skills!
Oh and don't forget that later in the day there was naked Marco Polo...
That evening Shaddix and I went on a little excursion to fill our own unique nerdy tourist needs, my taking public transportation and her seeing the Walk of Fame -- or more accurately, the Motley Crue star! We accomplished the metro ride and I took my requisite photos, but we walked the wrong way and didn't get to the star before the ridiculous crowds started to be too much.
We did, however, find and have bewildered giggles in front of the Scientology Celebrity Centre. Don't you think she'd fit right in?
I fell in LOVE with LA while I was there and I barely even saw the city. I got to drive around Hollywood a few times and we hit up the fashion district on Monday before driving back to the Bay Area, but I don't care! I love LA and think I might have to refocus my life towards moving there.
Right before we left:
Everyone I met was hella awesome!! I loved getting to know so many amazing people, even in such a short time. Just means I'll have to go back, and hopefully sooner rather than later! Thanks especially to Sean, Evette, and Rigel for all their party-planning and hosting and general awesomeness.
...more stuffs to write about but now I'm tired, so we'll save it for another day!
