this past week Avengend Sevenfold hit up Michigan, TWICE, during their tour. i of course went to both shows on Tuesday and Friday only having to travel a few hours out of my way which was cool since i usually make the long trek to Ohio most of the time (actually wouldn't mind going to the Ohio shows too hehe, maybe next time).
so i drove up to Grand Rapids the night before and met up with myspace friends Amber V, Nerdie, and April who are just as die hard a7x fans as me if not more so. we all got up at 9am the day of the show and got to the venue at 11...we were the first ones there!! the gates weren't even open yet so we parked right in front of them until they let us in. only a handful of kids were there as early as we were and the doors didn't open till 5pm so we pretty much froze our asses in the cold together for hours. other kids didn't really start showing up until a couple hours before the show.
right before we go inside the security makes a huge deal about how they don't let cameras in whatsoever so instead of sneaking it in like usual i put it back in the car it really sucked, it has to be the first time i wasn't able to take any pics at an A7X show. other stuff sucked too like they didn't give us our ticket stubs, they threw them away and gave us bracelets. but none of that stuff mattered when they finally let us down on the floor and we ran like crazy to our spots on the barricade. me and Amber had choice spots on the left side of the stage for obvious reasons hehe.
three bands played before the boys came on, the only one that really stood out was Shinedown. they had some good songs and the lead singer was amazing. i might even pick up their CD. not really sure what to say about Buckcherry, i didn't really like their music (except maybe the last song they did > or the rest of the band, but the lead singer fascinated me hehe. he was so weird and out-there, and call me crazy but i love way he dances. but still, it was a hard long wait for A7X to finally hit the stage.
when they finally did the whole place went crazy the mosh pit that had been rough but tolerable went insane and we got pushed like crazy. throughout the show i felt like i was either going to puke or pass out, and my left arm lost all feeling for about 4mins. ugh. but it was SOOO worth it. right after they played their first song me and Amber handed Vengeance University stickers down the front row and had all the kids hold them in the air as the second song started. totally made Zacky smile and he gave us one of his cute nods of approval, hehe. it was also Johnny Christ birthday so the boys were having him chug beer all night and drinking themselves, it was pretty cool to be there for that.
the show was amazing, as always of course, but was over way to soon in my opinion when they ended they started throwing picks and stuff and right after the bouncer handed me one from the floor i look up and see Zacky leaving the stage. but before he does he turns to me and Amber, waves at us and then blows us a kiss i totally lose it haha, probably the sweetest thing he's ever done
after the show we went out and waited by the buses for like 2HOURS and they never came out. it. was. freezing.
my next concert wasn't for a couple days so i go back home, and the night before i do leave for the show i see this picture from Amber V who went to the Indiana show right after the GR show
that is Zacky holding the V necklace i make for my jewelry line!! she luckily got to meet him and was nice enough to get this pic so i decided i needed to make him one too
friday morning i get up at like 7am, and really don't have any intentions of leaving early. the venue was only about 2hrs away and after almost freezing to death earlier in the week i vowed i wasn't going to do the same for this show. but my friend Ben gets to my house at like 10am and we were both anxious to get on the road so we left then and get to the venue at like noon and once again we are the FIRST people at the place!! thankfully though we didn't hang outside the entire time. we check out the area where the buses were and the venue let us wait inside until about 2hrs before the show. it was even colder this time, i almost couldn't take it by the time they opened the doors.
it was another mad dash to the barricade but just like the show before i got an amazing spot exactly where i wanted to be i was pretty freakin happy too since i hadn't really planned on doing the whole wait outside thing again. and also i had my camera this time! they were still being a little shitty about it at this venue too, they wouldn't let you take any flash photography so i decided to take video (which was against the "rules" too but i made it work and that ended up being better since i not only have some great shots from the still frames but i got some awesome clips as well. here are some of my favorite pics

after the show we go wait by the buses in the freezing ass cold (my second time that week ) and right from the start the security are being dicks. most of the kids give up and leave but right after about 2hrs the Rev comes out to sign stuff and take pics with everyone
this is how crazy i look after getting thrashed around in the pit then freezing for 2hrs straight
of course after he makes an appearance everyone gets all hopeful that maybe the others might come out as well but the security doesn't even give us a chance to see. basically they couldn't leave till we did, they wanted to go home and we weren't about to go anywhere so they told us they were going to call the cops if we didn't. wtf, seriously.
but i'm glad at least i got to meet the Rev again after being in the cold two times this week. and if i was feeling a lil down about not getting to meet ZV again, he sent me a message yesterday that totally made up for it
so as always i had an amazing crazy adventure at my two A7X shows this time around. i'm actually looking into making it three trying to find a way to hit up any of the upcoming dates. if i do, i'll be sure to let you all know how it goes
*edit to say DAMN, how many tongue smilies can one girl use, hehe*
