does it get any better than this???
not in my book

The Taste Of Chaos tour came rolling through my area this past weekend so me and my friend Alex hit the road and headed to Ohio to catch the first show on Friday. We got a late start but I flew down the highway at 80mph the whole four hour drive there. The roads were fine until we got to our hotel, but then the blizzard hit hard while we were getting ready to leave. We get to the venue a lil late so we weren't able to use our jump in line passes for the show. But the floor was pretty empty when we got inside and I grabbed a spot on the barricade right in front of the speakersBIG mistake. My ears are still ringing and the bass was vibrating my body so hard I thought I was going to puke a couple of times. But it was more than worth it to have a front row spot for the show
So I wasn't that impressed with any of the other bands on the tour. Ok to listen to while waiting but it seemed like an eternity before the boys hit the stage. Fifteen minutes before, a video comes on the screen showing the boys hanging out backstage and a countdown started before they came on which got everyone excited. A7X comes out opening with Critical Acclaim shooting off all kinds of crazy pyrotechnics, something I've never seen them do before. Zacky of course sees me rocking out at the barricade and gives me one of those cute point and nods that he always doesand I actually got it on tape this time!! It was totally on accident too, I was taping and it just sort of happened
you can see it on my myspace. and i got some amazing pics and video at the Ohio show
I ended up next to some really cool people who were heading to Detroit tomorrow (like we were) and they told me about a Meet & Greet that was suppose to go down at the Hard Rock Cafe the next day from 12-2. I seriously was on TOC's webpage everyday looking for Meet & Greet dates and saw nothing, and the guy who told me had herd it from someone else as well. But as soon as I knew about it I knew there was no way I was going to miss it. The only problem was Ohio was pretty much getting snowed in, I was actually afraid we might get stuck there. But we set our clocks for like 7am got our asses out of bed and got on the road as soon as possible the next day. It was REALLY shitty driving back to MI. for awhile we couldn't go over 40mph because the roads were soooooo bad. And I kept watching the clock getting closer and closer to noon but after getting somewhat lost in downtown Detroit we made it to our hotel, threw our bags in the room, and started huffing it on foot to the Hard Rock. It was cold and snowing and blowing everywhere and when we got inside I knew I looked like a total mess. There wasn't a very long line but I still tried to use my Cut In Line passes I got from buying an AP subscriptionof course they didn't work
so the guy guarding the line is like "The line is moving pretty fast, just get in line and you'll be fine." So we do and he's right there weren't that many people in front of us but when there is literally like two people left before us the boys get up and start walking away
I was just dumbfounded. We had tried so hard and run around like crazy trying to get there on time and we had missed it by like two minutes. Well yeah, there was no way I was going to let that happen
So I walk up to the guy blocking the little "backstage" area they had gone to and start telling him how I drove all this way and could he please just give them something to sign for me "Tell Zacky it's for yOyO" I say to him, "He kind of knows who I am". He was really nice and actually says yes, and when he does take my stuff he only walks a couple steps away from me. So I peek around the corner and I see Zacky, Syn, and Johnny just standing there!! Then Zacky sees me and says "Oh, it's for yOyO, whats up yOyO." And I just kind of wave like a geek and hold up my camera and ask if I can get a pic. So they let me back into there lil chill area and I actually got to put my arm around him this time which was fucking awesome
Syn and Johnny are both pretty quiet but Zacky asks me if I'll be at the show tonight and I'm like "OF COURSE". Then he says "Good, your in for a treat." So I thank them like a million times for being so nice and get outa there before I over stay my welcome
I SOOO wanted to be like "Can I have drink with you guys or something" but I could barely speak to begin with so I bolted, hehe. Me and Alex go back to the hotel to get ready and get to the venue around 20mins before the doors open. We get to use our jump in line passes this time and for the first time ever at an A7X show I am front row center!!! I have always been up by the barricade but always off to the side not right in front of everything. It was a crazy experience. Besides the assholes that try to steal your spot and the horrible pressure of about 300 people pushing on your back (which I am use to but it was pretty horrible this time) it was the most amazing experience ever. Yeah a bunch of crowd surfers pretty much broke my neck but it was worth it. And Zacky was right, the show was a treat, they were so much more on fire in Detroit than they were in Ohio. It wasn't even like seeing the same show twice, they just put so much into every live performance they do.
And after the show ends, when I think things can't get any better, one of their roadies comes up to me and hands me a set list!! It was really nice since I didn't catch any picks this time. and i never ended up getting those all access passess
the guy told me to come back after the show had started so i basically had to chose if i wanted the passess (not knwoing where in the venue they would actaully get me) or a front row spot for the show...i think i made a good choice
It was just the most amazing A7X experience I've ever had. Every time I seem to get a little bit closer
and I hope things keep going that way
as for the Detroit Tattoo con, i'll have to wait till i get some pics from other peeps before i blog about that. like an ass i forgot the memory card for my camera so i'll have to search my house for the cord that will get them from my internal memory to the computer
but i will def let you guys know how much fun i had there as soon as i can

I'm glad the Ohio show turned out to be a good show.
I'm happy for you, it would have sucked if you had gone all that way and didn't get to talk to them.
It sounds like you had a good 2 days.
