Hot damn! Today has been crazy!

I was invited to be on the Howard Stern show, found out I'm going to be in the coffee table book/glossy paged nude girly book for 420 Girls (420girls.com) and I got my new MacBook!!! Crikey! Okay... One thing at a time...

Rob Griffin from 420 Girls called me and asked me I'd release a bunch of my photos for the book that's coming out in March of 2007. I had no idea a book was coming out, or that I'd be featured in it with my words and pictures. How exciting! So of course I said yes and he mailed me the release forms.

About an hour later, Rob calls me back and says that we're going to be promoting the book, 420girls.com and 420 Times Magazine on The Howard Stern Show next April as well. Then he asks if I'll accompany him! So I guess Howard is paying for the flights, food and stay at the Hilton. I totally agreed to go. I doubt I'll get naked on national TV for anything under 1.5mill, but that's kind of the point... Rob is bringing three girls, two ditzy ones who will get naked and give Howard Stern the show he wants, and then me, ...For being bright, intelligent and in college. He wants me to help with the promotion of the book, talking about, "the cause," that is, the legalization of marijuana. He said he needed a chick who was hot, could talk science and not act like a four year old, so I guess that brought me to his mind. Anywho, I'm super excited. Even Mom and Dad think it's kinda cool.

Oh yeah, Putty is getting really skinny and sick. Dad says she never eats anymore. They're going to have her put to sleep, but I asked them to try to wait until Thanksgiving so that I could be with her one more time and say goodbye. She's a cat, by the way. A fifteen year old cat. Oh, I'll miss her so, yet we've still had so many good years together and she's had a good life. I'll be a little sad, but I don't even think I'll cry. It's like, you cry when you know that something's going to be missing something, but the truth is, I think she's lived her full lifespan. I think she's seen all that a happy, fixed, female feline can see and I think she's probably just as ready to go as ever, as I know how weak and skinny she is now. Oh gosh! I'll probably cry afterall... Maybe even right now! *sniff sniff*

Anyway, my new computer came. It has taken me hours, but I have set it up completely and downloaded all my messenging programs and printer extension files and the like. Not like it wasn't EXTREMELY hard though because it is my first time on a Macintosh. I was raised on Windows, so it was a completely new experience for me. I do love it so, though, already. It really is a nice computer. It's a MacBook, but not a Pro. I really needed a laptop for school and this one sure is exquisite. I have been running into one problem though...... When I shut down, it begins the process and goes to a blank blue toned screen with a little spinning wheel thingy. It never goes down beyond that point though and I end up pressing and holding the on/off button everytime, which I know isn't that good for it. I let it just spin for... As long as it would, which was like, hours, before I just hit the switch. Does anyone else with a MacBook have this problem or is it just me? Hmph.

Well, that's the gist of life right now. Oh yeah, English class was actually fun this morning, believe it or not. I must really be going crazy!!!

Luvvles,

Actually, I have an iBook with that same problem. Have you repaired permissions recently? Sometimes that works (like right now I have no problem with Shut Down hanging up). But the way I can always get it to work is to do shut down with the Mac unplugged, running off of battery power. On battery power it seems to want to shut down more quickly. Yeah, it's a work around and not a fix.
