Hello out there!
I'm back.
Anywho, today has gone so-so. I've spent most of the day fumbling about on the net. I applied to be a model at (can't say it) and (can't say it) today, so I guess we'll be finding out what happens with that. My set went up on (can't say it) a few days ago and I'm still pretty stoked about that. Oh, and Dad bought me a new computer today...
See, when I first moved out to go to college, Mom and Dad bought me a Gateway profile computer. Profiles are this new design in which the monitor and hard drive are one unit, thus, there is no tower or anything. It's such a brand new design however, that it's full of bugs. For the last three years we have been getting it serviced over and over again as the damned hardware literally falls apart from the inside out. You can't reformat it either, or the "ehome infrared tranceiver" and the network card go back to their original broken state meaning that it won't go online unless it's sent in to be serviced again. ...Argh. Yesterday I had to restart ten times!
So, my new computer is a MacBook and it should be coming in the mail any day now. It's a pretty sick laptop with a lot of cool, built-in features, like a webcam. I know there are compadibility issues, but I'm no gamer so it shouldn't be a problem. Wellllll, I do play Diablo II sometimes, but that game just happens to be Mac compadible. Other than that, I just browse the web, word process and edit photos and download media. Can't wait till it gets here!
This evening, well, I know this is going to sound weird, but, I wrote Dr. Jack Kevorkian a letter. He's in Thumb Correctional Facility and I was able to get the address and his inmate number. I'm an undergrad scientist and what most people don't know is that Dr. Kevorkian only spent a microscopic part of his life on the concept of euthanasia. He mainly focused on medical studies that paved the way for human blood transfusion and the ocular movements at the moment of death. He wrote some really amazing things and was overall just a damned genius and incredible scientist. His art is what I love the most though.... Check it out:
Brotherhood
Fever
(The Gourmet) War
Nearer My God To Thee
Very Still Life
For He Is Raised
Betcha'll didn't know he was such a crazy cool artist, eh? His style reminds me of Salvador Dali with a very gothic and death themed atmosphere. I think, "Very Still Life" is my favorite. The cover to Acid Bath's album, "Paegan Terrorism Tactics" has "For He Is Raised" as the their cover.
So anywho, wish me luck in general.
Much love,
