My studies into Marxism have led me to an economic philosophy known as Distributism. Essentially it rejects socialism and capitalism as products of the ruling elite. In Distributism the means of production are shared, however private property is retained. The problem with it is that the body that keeps balance between the nation-state and the private market is THE CATHOLIC CHURCH... yeah... the whole thing is based on the writings of a few popes.
I just got done this, Rerum Novarum. It's the first of the works that influenced Distributism. It's pretty wordy and actually states very little. But it led me to this...

This is the first real Distributist text. I haven't gotten through it yet, but its far easier to read than the ramblings of some popes. Luckily, Chesterton (the author) moves the philosophy farther from the catholic church and closer to more universal beliefs.

I'm happy to be back into studying these kinds of things.... but I did just buy Black Ops 2 so... yeah
