Amanda. Bynes.
Everybody knows how bizarre she's been acting as of late, and there's speculation that it's all an act, a result of drug use, or a breaking down of her entire psyche as she seems to have lost her mind. If it is mental or drug related, then I hope she gets help. If it's an act, then she's a damn good actress. For real.
But what really bothers me is the amount of people I see saying, "OMG her piercings are so ugly" or "She's clearly lost it with those metal things in her face". Even Melissa Joan Hart's advice was to "remove the piercings".
...
This might seem trivial, but at what point are her microdermals a problem when compared to the big picture of what's really going on with her? Are we not past the point in society where two little facial piercings aren't a bother to the majority of the public? Granted, hers look shabbily done because they're noticeably uneven and not even in the right location (in my opinion, AND it should be noted that some people wonder if they're even real), but I fail to see what removing her piercings is going to do in the grand scheme of things. If anything, were they placed correctly, I think they'd look beautiful on her.
It just gets under my skin, so to speak. This girl is acting more bizarre than Britney Spears ever dreamed of acting back when she had her meltdown, and all I keep seeing on forums is how ugly her piercings are. Can we not focus on the fact that as of right now, barring any confession that it's all an act, that this poor girl is on a downward spiral? She's 27, she's never shown any sign of abusing drugs or mental illness except in recent years, and it just seemed to come out of nowhere around the time of her 24th birthday. This age bracket is the "perfect" age bracket for mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia to appear, and no one seems to be addressing this. The fact that her parents or any family hasn't even intervened yet makes me wonder if it's not all an act, but either way, she needs to get some help or something. But what's everyone saying?
Oh, but really, Amanda, just take your piercings out. It'll all be ok after that.
I mean, really, world?
End rant.

Smartest post of the month on SG. Very eloquent...I could not agree more. You said in a nutshell what needed to be said. Bravo!
