I wanna talk about my first tattoo ever. 🎀 I got it at 16 and it’s probably the most rock n’ roll thing I’ve ever done, or so it was in my young little head back then.
There was a huge festival taking place in São Paulo where most of my favorite bands were playing: Sonic Youth, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Chris Cornell, Faith No More and many others. Once in a lifetime opportunity! I saved up for mooonths, penny by penny (trust me, it isn’t easy getting big festival money at 15). When I finally had enough money to buy the tickets, I found out that 15 year olds could NOT enter the festival without a parent or legal guardian with them. It broke my heart! So I kept the money. There was gonna be a Pearl Jam concert later that year anyways. After the festival ended, I found out that the employees at the gates weren’t really giving a fuck. They were letting people in left and right, so people my age were being allowed in easily, even my friend @chinahot got in and she's a year younger than me! Agh, I felt so dumb, but I mean, at least I still had Pearl Jam! Well, guess what? I couldn’t attend that one either. So my next best option was to spend that hard-earned money on a tattoo. I chose the lyrics from Neil Young’s ‘Hey, Hey, My, My’, but this version performed by Oasis, and I got it on my ribs 🥵 (never again, btw). It says “Rock n’ Roll will never die”. And as far as I know, it still hasn’t!
Thankfully, I got to see Neil Gallagher (from Oasis) in 2012 and Eddie Vedder (from Pearl Jam) in 2014. WITH my tattoo. And a fake ID 😂
