Checking in.
Was a busy week, but it's over and done with, busy weekend ahead. Been cleaning up, watched Superman (Christopher Reeves one) with friend, worked out, done my 140 squats, picked up my phone and communicated.
Bowling soon enough with friends, tomorrow my mum's leaving for Morocco, so I found her my handwritten vocabulary notepad of Arabic. Half of it she can use, the other I stopped writing phonetic transcriptions and only used Arabic alphabet, so I guess that's useless. I'll still have to compile something later of the useful Moroccan/Arabic/French phrases I can remember.
salam aleykum/marhaba - greeting
ana - me/I
ayndee - I have
ayna - where
bikam - how much? (when asking a price)
zwin/zwina - pretty
jameel/jameela - beautiful
lebas - same as a va in French
keef halek - how are you?
bikhair - good
ana min cheekia - I'm from the Czech Republic
ismee - my name is
ureedu - I want
ureedu an - I want to
...
and other stuff like that
Another thing I am spending some thoughts on is where to meet new people, especially men
Trouble is, all my friends are in relationships and hang out with other people in relationships so even when I go out with them, there's no one new in there
So I'm thinking - those of you who have/had relationships, where have you met your other half? I've met my first on a workshop and the other at work. I seem to be working with tied up men only too, so that one's out unless the company stops the recruiting embargo
On that thought, I can advertise myself thus:
On my worse days I could also add:
Finally have my phone back, so started uploading all the necessary applications. Discovered Foursquare, so if I can find any Foursquare friends, mind also find some good tips on where to check it out
This is the first pic I took with it as soon as I had it back
The retard that I am, when mum called whether I can quickly run out the flat, just put some trousers on and bring her portable coffee to the metro, so that she manages both to see me before she leaves and to catch her train, I forgot to do anything else but grab the coffee and pants
Well, I guess Christmas came early for some people I have encountered in the street
Now I should run, before I'm late, or I won't be able to compete in our Yoda Challenge (we compete for the travelling trophy of toy-Yoda)
Wish you all a good weekend!

juddykun:
When you discover a good system for meeting someone would you mind sharing it with the rest of the class?
