Tuesday the weather guy started the scare that we were having the storm of the century here in town. It would start Wednesday and run through Monday. Wednesday we got snow and the schools shut down. By 5pm all the snow melted and the ice was gone. That night the weather guy said Thursday would be a nice, 40 something, and Friday we would get covered in snow for the next two days(up to 10 inches). The grocery stores got cleaned out. People thought we would loose electricity and be stuck in our houses for the weekend. Fast forward to Saturday night, now, and you will see we got 30 minutes of snow and a weekend of near freezing rain. Sure this morning was beautiful with ice all over the trees but by noon ice was falling allover and by 5pm it was nice out. I would love to beat the weather guy.
Tonight, I cooked a beef and broccoli dish with a thick cut Angus Beef New York steak. I thinly sliced the steak and chopped some onion, garlic and since I only had one stock of broccoli I chopped the long stem too. I topped it off with pepper and bottled teriyaki sauce. Tasty. After I post this I will smoke a AF Hemingway Short Story out front. I forgot to take a pic, we were starving.
Tomorrow morning I will make some greasy breakfast treats. Fried egg, bacon, ham and cheese on placed in between a sliced toasted croissant. I'll try to take a pic.
