What is the last "new" thing I tried?
Walking a (tiny) piece of the Appalachian Trail.
I am always craving mountains - so after resigning from my career, I booked a mountain cabin in Northern Georgia and decided to hike.
I walked part of the Appalachian Trail one day - mainly to show my friend (who is currently hiking the entire trail) that I was there. Just a small way to say I am thinking about you and so proud of you.
I also hiked the Bear Hair Trail at Vogel State Park and did some hiking near the largest waterfall in Georgia.
I went to a winery on top of a mountain and watched a thunderstorm dump hail, rain, and lightning all around - whilst enjoying the best view of the Blue Ridge and vineyards.
A tree 5 yards from my cabin was struck by lightning. I lost access to water and internet. The internet I didn't even use - but WATER? Haha, I really needed a shower!
I kept the cabin windows open at night to hear the locusts, and then birds in the morning.
I drove on steep winding roads, went to a moonshine distillery, and climbed a giant rock 5 miles away from any other humans. Once on the rock, I sat and listened to thunder rumbling around and getting louder and louder.
