I am going to be your tour guide for this blog!!
I am always raving about why I love my town... So, I thought I would dedicate my blog to Orlando. The biggest misconception is that Universal and Disney are in Orlando - that is NOT TRUE. I fucking hate that area haha. The REAL Orlando is progressive, quaint, historic, and very local business friendly.
This is Critical Mass, happens the last friday of each month:
The Springs are nearby:
Downtown is beautiful:
We have museums:
(bar on top of the Science Center - for cosmos under the cosmos)
We have several local markets:
We have great weather year round:
We are close to the beach:
We have great local music:
Best Sandwiches: Pom Poms Tea House (EPIC)
Best Tea: Dandelion Communitea (they host moon circles, too)
Best Craft Beer Bar: Redlight Redlight (rated 3rd in the world)
Best Record Store: Park Ave CDs (they host great live music too)
Best Mixology Bar: Hanson's Shoe Repair (must know the password!)
Best 100% Local Market: Audobon Market (rated best in Florida)
Best (pricey) Dinner: The Ravenous Pig (bar has secret mixology drink list upon request)
Best (reasonably priced) Dinner/Lunch: Sushi Lola's
Best Kept Secret: Thornton Park (small historic town, in downtown)
Best Gardens: Leu Gardens (free the 1st monday of each month)
Best Movie Theater: The Enzian (non-profit, hosts outdoor movie nights on the lawn)
Best Shopping for Yuppies: Park Ave., Winter Park
The New York Times has written about the real Orlando several times.

You are making me miss home so bad! I miss taking my corgi to Burton's. Not to sound weird but I'm pretty sure you have served me a beer (or 7). Can't really remember though ^_^
